The students of 1st year Baccalaureate C attended on Friday 11th at the Teatro Principal of Pontevedra to the talk “The knowledge and taste of Mathematics of proximity” by María Elena Vázquez Cendón, Mathematician, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics of the USC and María Josefa Wonenburguer Award 2022, within the events promoted by the City Council of Pontevedra on the occasion of the “International Day of Women and Girls in Science” in this edition under the title “The 51st Photo”.
During the conference, Elena made a tour of her interest in mathematics and her teaching and research experience in the field of Industrial Mathematics, which began by solving the currents in the Pontevedra estuary. Reflections and information that did not lose the referential framework of 11F.
