ANPA XOCAS held a workshop, directed in this case to parents, in which the misuse of ICT was addressed with two premises: to become aware that it is better to educate than to prohibit and publicize the guidelines basic performance for safe navigation.
According to a study of the use of new technologies by schoolchildren in Pontevedra, conducted in 2015, about three thousand students of the institutes of the city, 85% have mobile phones with Internet connection and 75% had their first cellular between 10 and 13 years old. Seven out of ten surf the net without their parents putting any or few limitations.
With these data on the table, the Pontevedra Council, through the Concellería of Benestar Social, has just started the worshops of prevention of addictive conducts in the institutes of the city, in which they will participate around three thousand students.
In these workshops, aimed at the student population between the first and fourth years of ESO and cycles of vocational training, we work with addictions to substances such as tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and other drugs, as well as behaviors associated with the misuse of new technologies.
The workshop celebrated in our Center is included within the Municipal Plan of Addictive Behaviors.
